Zipline FAQ

What is Zip Lining?

Zip lining is an activity where passengers ride down sloped cables suspended in the air after tethering yourself to it with a pulley attached to your harness. Gravity propels you from top to bottom.

When is Zip Line season?

Weather permitting, Bigfoot Zip Line operates all year round. From Memorial Day until Labor Day our hours are from 9 a.m. until 6 p.m. Fall, Winter and Spring hours vary, so please call (608) 254-5555 for specific tour times.

Please arrive 30 minutes prior to your scheduled departure time. State your group’s name at the ticket window and tickets and receipts will be printed at this time. The tour is approximately 2 hours long, plus the time required to check-in and unharness after the tour.

There are 7 different zip lines of varying lengths that range from 450 ft.-1400 ft. long. Riders can reach speeds of 35-50 mph when zip lining. During the tour you will be at varying heights from 54-120 feet above the ground.

Are snacks and beverages allowed on the Zip Lines?

No, but there are complimentary water stations throughout the course to keep you hydrated. We have a Snack Shop and Tiki Bar at our facility where you can purchase water, soda, snacks and candy before or after your tour.

Is there a bathroom on the Zip Line Course?

Yes. There is a portable bathroom located on the course as well as we have one in our Gift Shop Area.

What is the weather like in Wisconsin Dells and what should I wear?

Bigfoot Zip Lines operates during rain. However, rides will be suspended if there’s lightning in the area. Once the weather clears, the rides will resume operation. We do not accept responsibility for the weather. Please make your reservation knowing that if we are forced to cancel a trip due to weather, you would then be able to either: 1) reschedule to another time, or 2) receive a voucher in the form of a gift card that may be used in the future, or gifted to family or friends coming to the Dells. Please dress accordingly to the weather. Participants must wear close-toed shoes, comfortable clothing, and be free from jewelry. Long hair should be tied back into a pony tail at the base of the neck. There are complimentary lockers available to store personal belongings prior to departure. Each participant is fitted with a harness, lanyard, pulley system, gloves, and helmet.

Who can Zip Line?

You must be in reasonably good health to go zip lining. Children must be a minimum of 43 inches tall to take the Zipline Tour. Participants should not be pregnant, and be free from back, foot, heart and respiratory problems. Participants must be able to ascend and descend stairs, walk along the ground, stand on elevated platforms, attach and remove carabiners, pulleys and harnesses, and descend considerable vertical distances along fixed wires while suspended in a harness. Participants are required to sign a Waiver acknowledging the risks involved.

How can I purchase a ticket?

You can book online at BigfootZip.com or give us a call at 608-254-5555 and we’ll gladly help you. Reservations are required. Walk-ins are welcome, but space cannot be guaranteed until you’ve made a reservation. When calling, please be ready with your contact information, number of adults, number of children and your Credit Card to book your reservation.

How do I Check-In?

Arrive at least 30 minutes prior to your scheduled tour time. The address is 1550 Wisconsin Dells Parkway. This will give you enough time to check-in, get oriented to the facilities, fill out your Waiver, and prepare for the tour. Upon arrival, please stop at the ticket booth out front for your flight passes and instructions.

What is on-Site at Bigfoot Zip Lines?

Our facilities are new as of the 2010 season. There’s a spacious passenger seating area, Gift Shop, Snack Bar, Tiki Bar, male/female and family restrooms.

The passenger seating area is a common area where passengers await the duck rides, jet boat rides and our zip line. Like the ducks, our other tours are excellent. Please ask about combination fares to save, because the more rides you take the better your deal. Click here for more information regarding our Epic Mix Package.

What is your cancellation policy?

There are no refunds once you’ve purchased tickets and made a reservation. Tickets are valid until used, so you may reschedule to another time, or gift them to family or friends that are coming to the Dells.

What forms of payment are accepted?

Cash, American Express, Visa, MasterCard, and Discover cards are acceptable methods of payment.
